What the web app is responsible for

The web app is the human-friendly surface area for vem. It surfaces tasks, decisions, and project context while keeping Git as the source of truth.

It also centralizes organization controls like seats, roles, and invite flows so teams can scale access safely.

Use it to review memory artifacts at a glance and to spot drift before it becomes a problem for agents.

Custom Auth and Organization Management

vem uses a custom authentication and organization management system backed by Supabase. This gives us full control over the user experience and security policies.

Every user can create or join multiple organizations, with roles that govern their permissions across projects and billing.

Consistent org metadata helps the indexer keep search results scoped to the right team and enforces seat assignments on every write.

Use the UI to keep context healthy

Use the dashboard to spot stale tasks, verify changelogs, and keep ADRs fresh.

That operational discipline is what keeps memory reliable for agents and developers alike.

Schedule a short weekly review to close out old tasks and confirm decisions are still accurate.

Operational tips

Pin the most relevant tasks and decisions for each team so new members can ramp quickly.

Treat the web app as a read and review surface; Git remains the canonical write path.

  • Weekly memory review
  • Clear ownership on decisions
  • Short, high-signal summaries
